It’s dangerous to the wallet to have Disneyland less than 1½ hours away. Luckily, they were running a pretty good deal for Southern Californian residences. 3 trips for $159 per person (and Connor is free)… still expensive but not 2nd mortgage expensive.

It had been several years since we visited Disneyland, so we decided to take advantage of the Southern California deal this year. As expected, there were way too many people at Disneyland, but there just isn’t a more magical place to visit.

We happened to visit the same day as one of Connor’s best kindergarten buddies. My monkeys, Connor’s buddy Sofia, and her big brother Diego all had a blast meeting up with each other outside of the classroom.

It was a super long but fun packed day at Disneyland. We were there from 8:30am until 11:45pm… over 15 hours! We were able to get on tons of rides by making great use of the fast pass system.

Gavin’s mind was blown by Hyperspace Mountain but Connor was not a fan, although he enjoyed all the other rides. Gavin also got to go on Big Thunder Mountain twice in a row, using his brother’s fast pass and his own. He is becoming quite a fan of roller coasters.

We spent the day before Aliciana’s birthday at Disneyland, so she could celebrate it like a princess. Everything was decorated for the holidays and the castle looked beautiful with all the lights.

The boys got to paddle the canoes for the first time, and I got soaked when I went on Splash Mountain with Gavin. The new Star Wars land has an amazing atmosphere to walk around in; it really felt like you were on a remote outpost on some alien world.
